lessons for life
We believe every child can learn music to a high ability level, just as they learn language. The Suzuki Method nurtures the whole child. Learning music is exciting and joyful within the Suzuki community and students develop an ongoing desire to learn. SDSSM is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Why Learn Music?
According to research by the US Department of Education, children who study music do better in school and in life. After just one year, young children who learned music showed brain changes and superior memory compared with children who did not receive musical instruction. Qualities developed through musical instruction include: critical thinking, long term goals, perseverance, teamwork, concentration, self discipline, posture, confidence, leadership, and problem solving.
