Ms. Caitlin was able to arrange through her connections a tour of the Balboa Theater in downtown San Diego, originally built in 1924. It hosts each year major professional musical and comedic productions. We learned its history and the kids were lucky enough to play a few songs on stage!
Our advanced violin students open the Unity in Diversity 2015 world dance festival at the Poway Performing Arts Center with the Indian and US national anthems. While waiting to perform we like to play fiddle tunes backstage.
Another amazing student has joined our 365 Day Practice Club. Congratulations, Chisato Kamakura, on all your hard work this past year!

We played a couple of pieces from our Suzuki repertoire and the Indian national anthem. It was exciting playing for a well-attended audience on a large stage.
Every year all of our students are encouraged to attend a music camp or institute. The local Suzuki day camp, Strings by the Sea, is popular with many. (fun class pictured left) Kids enjoy taking classes with wonderful non-local teachers, as well as non-Suzuki courses. We love spreading holiday cheer in December! All ages, from little ones to adults, played once again for the lovely residents of the senior assisted care facility, Emeritus, in Carmel Valley. Suzuki repertoire, Christmas, and Hanukah pieces were enjoyed by all.
Members of our local Suzuki association joined together for a beautiful sunny afternoon of music, games, food, and fun at Mission Bay Park. Lunch was provided for current (2013-2014) SMAC-SDB teacher/family members. Everyone brought instruments to play some of our favorite Suzuki pieces together. Prizes were given to winners of the games!
